52 weeks of pagan art journaling

Introducing:

Starting in February, with Brighid's celebration of Imbolc, I'm starting 52 weeks of pagan art journaling project. So join me if you like as I post weekly prompts to get you thinking about what your path means to you, in words and art!

What is an art journal, you ask? The concept is simple really (even though it may seem a little daunting sometimes). An art journal is a journal that you use words and art (sometimes more art, sometimes more words) to record your thoughts, ideas, and feelings in.

The journal can be as fancy and as simple as you would like it to be! Some people draw amazing pictures, while others, like me, create simpler pages. They can be colours, sketches, collages, or anything else you'd like. Sometimes a page can be image based, other times it can be more text based. Art journals let you play and explore.

So if you're interested, join me and let me know. Drop me a line and I'll link to you so that others can watch your progress! And coming up soon, a podcast series to go with it!

  1. This sounds extremely interesting! I am not much of a visual artist, but I can write and I can take pictures. I might give this one a go.

  2. it does sound very interesting, I have been wanting to get involved in art journalling for a while, we have just brought a journal for each family member so that we can start a nature/art journal of our own, so I may join you too :)

  34. Wow, this is awesome! I've been looking all over and getting ideas in creating a Journal for my Herbal Ally 2011 studies with Goldenrod -- and I used to draw and paint all the time, as well as do creative writing -- which I've put on hold for so long now. This just may be the thing to getting myself started on this fun journey with you all!!!

Mind you, I'm a big procrastinator and do things when I have and/or find the time, but I'll take it one-step-at-a-time, because I love writing and find it very therapuetical and it always helps getting my emotions down on paper.

Looking forward to the fun, Fun, FUn, FUN here!!!

    Hugs,

  36. @sharonlee: there's no special catch to participate. I'm about to post week 48, if the prompt speaks to you, run with it. If not, pick another topic or delve into the archive.

I'm almost finished the first 52 weeks and am currently contemplating what I'm going to do once the 52nd week is completed.
